We are fundraising to expand (our building, our team, and the impact of our care)

The Downtown Clinic is a high-quality integrated healthcare clinic providing free, high-quality care to uninsured individuals without the burden of costly medical bills.

By providing quality over quantity care, we believe in holistic care, individuals, and meeting people where they are. By creating a growing environment to train future healthcare professionals and help individuals navigate the U.S. healthcare system, we are a resource hub for our clients and non-profit community.

This year marks our 25th anniversary, and we are thrilled to celebrate with you this summer!

Last year, we:

  • Launched our mobile health clinic with social work and counseling services
  • Expanded Spanish translation services to meet our population's needs, removing language barriers to care
  • We hired our first intake intern and full-time provider to improve and expand the depth of our services, including cancer screening, gender-affirming care, and client care management.
  • We hired a full-time social worker to help clients overcome barriers to care and address social determinants of health, including housing stability and transportation.

This year, to mark our 25th Anniversary, we aim to:

  • Support individuals with complex needs with our mobile mental health clinic, supporting individuals with Social Work and Counseling, along with wraparound services like food access, Medicaid applications, medical care, and Cheyenne housing applications.
  • Fund a new building! We are bursting at the seams, running out of office space and examination rooms needed for staffing and providing more care. A new building would help us have more examination rooms, dedicated spaces for specialty care, and house our growing staff.
  • Celebrate the past and years to come! We will be having an in-person celebration in July and would love your attendance!

Appointments are filling up beyond what we can sustain in our current space. Specialized provider volunteers are ready to aid these individuals, but we are running out of room to house them.

Your support will help us to expand to meet community needs.

About the Downtown Clinic:

For over two decades, the Downtown Clinic has provided primary and specialty healthcare services to individuals in Albany County, Wyoming. With four full-time and five part-time staff members, five interns, and over 80 community volunteers, the Downtown Clinic provides free healthcare to nearly 400 individuals living at the margins annually. The Clinic raises most of its funding from local sources (more than 75%) and spends over 95 cents of every dollar locally. The Clinic was built upon the fundamental belief that all should have access to high-quality healthcare, and in its 25 years of existence, the Clinic has cared for over 10,000 families in need.

With the help of donors and the local community, we provided 1.345 million dollars worth of community services in 2022, including medication, social work, primary visits, specialist visits, and vaccinations, to the Albany County community. We provided 390 individuals with over 2480 appointments, 3409 prescriptions, and 504 vaccinations. This does not include reduced ER visits' value and the compounding positive impact of providing vaccines to individuals and the community.

The lack of Medicaid expansion in Wyoming in the past 25 years continues to emphasize the need for a facility like ours. We thank you for your support and the expanding possibilities you have helped us create!

Reports state that 23% of individuals in Albany County, Wyoming, earn income at or below the poverty line. We believe there are more individuals out there that need our help. We need to expand our space and staff to support them!

We believe:

  • That everyone in our community is valuable.
  • That all individuals deserve high-quality healthcare.
  • That strong, vibrant communities are composed of healthy individuals and families
  • we all have a role to play in the health of our community, and together, we can build a more just and equitable community-based healthcare system that is effective and innovative.

Will you help us expand today?
